When you create an account or use Negotiate, we may collect:

• Account information: Email address, display name, month and year of birth (for age verification), authentication provider (email, Google, Apple, or Telegram)
• Preferences: Profile settings, coach selection, notification preferences, and display settings
• Practice and conversation data: Messages exchanged during practice sessions and coach chats, including voice messages; case progress and session outcomes
• Usage data: Device type, screen resolution, language, timezone, pages visited, session duration
• Location data: Approximate location derived from your IP address (country, state, city) — used for timezone detection and analytics only
• Payment data: Subscription status and payment records (payment details are processed by our payment provider and are not stored on our servers)
• AI-generated media: Opponent profile images generated during case creation, stored on our servers and associated with your account

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and deliver AI-powered negotiation practice cases and personalized coaching interactions
• To track your practice history and progress across sessions (3-level memory system), and to allow your coach to remember your practice history and preferences
• To generate AI-created images (opponent profile pictures) associated with your cases
• To verify that you meet the minimum age requirement (13+)
• To process subscription payments
• To calculate XP, badges, and achievements
• To send practice reminders and service notifications (with your consent)
• To improve our service through analytics and error monitoring
• To send you updates about Negotiate (you can opt out at any time)

3. AI Processing and Third-Party Services

Negotiate uses artificial intelligence to generate opponent personas and dialogue, coaching responses, and case scenarios. To provide this:

• Text generation: Your messages and conversation context are sent to third-party AI language model providers to generate opponent responses, coach dialogue, and case scenarios
• Speech-to-text: Voice messages you send are processed by a third-party speech recognition service to convert them to text
• Text-to-speech: Opponent and coach messages may be converted to audio by a third-party voice synthesis service
• Image generation: Opponent descriptions are sent to a third-party image generation service to create profile portraits

These third-party services process your data solely to generate responses and do not use it for their own model training. We do not share your name, email, or account details with these services — only the conversation content or descriptions necessary to generate a response or image.

4. Practice Memory System

Negotiate uses a multi-level memory system to enhance your practice experience. During practice sessions, the system tracks key moments, strategies, and patterns across multiple conversations. Your coach also maintains memory of your practice history, preferences, and context you share to provide continuity across cases. This data is stored on our servers and is associated with your account. You can delete individual coaches (which deletes their memories) or your entire account at any time.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We use cloud infrastructure providers that comply with SOC 2 standards. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

6. Cookies and Tracking

We use session storage (not persistent cookies) to track your visit within a single browser session. This data is used solely for analytics and is not shared with advertisers.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data by contacting us
• Delete your account and all associated data through the app (Profile > Delete Account)
• Opt out of marketing communications via the unsubscribe link in any email
• Disable push notifications and email notifications in Profile settings
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format

8. Age Requirement

Negotiate is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. We collect your month and year of birth to verify eligibility. If we determine that a user is under 13, their account and data will be deleted promptly.

9. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Negotiate does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided us with personal information without their consent, please contact us and we will delete the information.

10. Consent to AI Data Processing

By creating an account, you explicitly consent to your messages being processed by third-party AI services as described in Section 3. This consent is required to use the service. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

11. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data, practice session transcripts, coach memories, progress data, and AI-generated images are permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymized analytics data may be retained for longer.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
